Patient Scenario for Developmental Plan.

Scenario: Jason is a 16-year-old male diagnoses with testicular cancer. Jason has a developmental delay and cognitively is at a 4-year-old level. Jason has autism and ADHD, limited verbal communication and is sensory adverse (does not like to be touched/having things on his body). Jason has anxiety about the hospital and difficulty complying with routine medical things such as vital signs. Jason is being admitted for neutropenia and will need to stay for about 5 days. Based on this information students should use their developmental knowledge to identify where the child should be developmentally, therapeutic activities that can be done based on patient situation, patient coping techniques, and develop a plan of care until patient is discharged. Each student will write a paper using APA format and peer reviewed journal articles to support plan. Paper should be 6 pages minimum -Developmental Therapeutic Plan (30 points) -Therapeutic Activity (15 points) -Coping Techniques (15 points) -Plan of Care (20 points)
