Peter Parker is the new network administrator for a local clothing store in downtown St. Paul. One of the first tasks that Peter engages in is to review existing information security policy. He discovers that there are a number of usage policies about what is acceptable use of host computers by users; however, there is no policy that provides necessary guidance to IT staff that will help them understand the priorities of the leadership of the store. Peter convenes a meeting with these leaders and discusses with them the need to determine what information assets are important to the organization so that he can use those priorities to develop information security policies needed to perform the rest of his tasks.
