What is gained and lost from approaching the weekly topic from either perspective?

Every week, students should post a response to the instructor video that attends to themes discussed by the instructor, and makes direct connections to the weekly readings. These responses should be roughly ¾ page single spaced, and should demonstrate familiarity with the readings as well as the instructor video. These responses should be specific in the way that they discuss the texts, making reference to particular concepts or ideas. Finally, these responses should attend to the differences and similarities that students find between the philosophical and social scientific articles.
