The list of questions below are a starting point, in case you’re not sure what to write about. You do not need to address all these questions in your paper. Remember, your topic should be something that is interesting to you. You can discuss anything you like in this paper, just make sure it’s researched, correctly cited, and related to theatre. Research papers might explore some of the following: · What is your topic? I.e., “Greek Theatre”, “1960’s American Theatre”, “History of theatrical (Lighting or Scenic or Costume) design”. · Why is this topic of interest to you? Why did you chose it? · If you are researching a time period, what new or innovative things, ideas, or techniques are happening in theatre at that time? · If you are researching a time period, how does the social, religious, or political climate relate to theatre at this time or through your topic? · If you are researching a time period, were there any inventions in this time which changed theatre? Were they invented specifically for theatre, or did theatre change because of them? · Is your topic an innovation or something new and different at this time? What and how? · Is your topic a reaction or protest to something at this time? What and how? · How do major historical figures relate to theatre/your topic? Formatting Instructions: · 4-5 pages long. · 1″ margins all around. · 12 point Arial or Times · Double spaced · I only need your name at the top of the first page. No date, no class, not my name. Just yours.
