Write a research paper addressing the question, “What distinguishes contract grading from ungrading?”There are three (3) basic questions you are addressing. 1. WHAT were the three most important things you learned in/from this class? And one must be historical (person, event, or thing). 2. WHY were they the most important? 3. HOW will you apply at least one of those three as you move forward in your academic career? For #1, your response will be the shortest of your three responses. Not much to say except for something like “The three most important things I Learned in this class are A, B, and C.” That’s it. Think holistically. Demonstrate metacognition. For #2, your response will probably be the longest of your three responses because here is where you will add specifics, details, and explanations. And that is going to take up lots of space. Remember, you are not just expanding on the “What” you are demonstrating WHY A, B, and C are the most important things you have learned. For #3, your response will probably be pretty meaty because you are moving forward in your thought process, filling in the future with the new information you have now. Telling me how you will empower yourself in the future with the new information you have now. Again, you must use evidence from my lectures, the assigned OER textbook (Our Story), and the assigned Readings. Only then can you use additional sources, if you wish. Finally, end with your grade. The final sentence needs to be your projected grade. “Thus, the grade I earned is XX.” Easy peasy. Don’t forget to produce the grade you earned. Offer specific, detailed evidence. Use evidence from my lectures, our OER textbook, and assigned readings then use “outside sources” as needed.
