In short, it is not enough to simply point out things in the text of your choice: you must demonstrate their significance and argue for the rightness of your reading by showing how your insights help others gain fresh understanding of the text.​Implied above is the requirement that this essay needs to be thesis driven. You need to make an argumentative case for your reading of the text. Your thesis should answer two questions: A.) How should we interpret the aspects of the text you address? B.)
