Write a research paper on Foreign language effect on status quo bias and romantic relationships.Hypothesis: Native language creates status quo bias in mate choice more likely than a foreign language.research question : People will respond in line with the status quo bias when they are asked in Turkish whether they would leave their partner when they meet someone else better (more attractive, more beneficial?, more loving?)We think that it is important to investigate the foreign language effect on decisionmaking process. Because almost all of us and all of our social surrounding can speak atleast two languages, foreign language affect may have impact on our daily life activitiesand daily life decisions, such as it happens with romantic relationships.ABOUT SURVEY WE HAVE MADE:Through an online survey on Qualtrics, firstly, participants will be presented with ahypothetical story on relationships about selecting an alternative possible partner and willbe asked to determine how likely they would be to leave their current partners for analternative one. This story will be presented either in native language of the participantsthat is Turkish, or will be asked in English, in a random order across participants. Then,participants will receive language learning questionnaire that investigates the history oflanguage learning and self-reported skills such as comprehension, by using open endedquestions and questions with seven-point scaled answers that are mostly about languageproficiency. Also, demographic information will be asked as a part of the languageproficiency measure we are using in order to gather deeper understanding about thelanguage proficiency of individuals.-All participants will be native Turkish speakers. All assessments will be done online viaQualtrics. LEAP-Q scale will be used to assess the language proficiency of participants inTurkish and English. While we examine their proficiencies, we will also collect somedemographics of year of birth, place of birth, and gender. We will also give them animaginary story about relationships in which they will need to decide on the likelihood thatthey would leave their current partners for an alternative one. These stories will bepresented in either Turkish or English, and participants will be randomly assigned to eitherof these groups.-Participants will be tested only once online.-It will take maximum of 15 minutes.We will ask for place of birth and gender since both are items of the language learningquestionnaire that we will present to the participants.We will ask the place of birth to getmore knowledge about the native language. We are asking for gender in order to knowabout our statistics (we would like to have approximately the same number of males andfemales).
