Fortune 500 company expanding operations to Norway, must have an innovative product or service that will do well in Norway’s market and culture.

THE PROMPT: In 5 pages or more, double spaced:  Choose a country and an industry you are interested in.  Consider what innovative new product or service you could offer that would best meet the needs of a target market in that country.  The decision process we studied is the outline of your paper.  Section One: The objectives are the product attributes your target market needs.  Section Two: What they have available already are the facts.  Section Three: The difference between what they have and what they need are the problems.  Why don’t they have what they need?  Why do they have these needs?  Section Four: Alternatives are the different products or services you might offer that would meet their needs.  Section Five: Your decision is the best alternative, your new product or service.  Section Six: The action plan is your marketing plan, the details of the product or service, pricing, logistics, and communication.  Section Seven: Feedback.  How will you monitor progress of your action plan, to see how problems are being solved and to be ready to adjust your decision and action plan.  The marketing mix is discussed in the chapter on Marketing.  The other chapters you studied offer ideas for you to incorporate. There are many ways of solving problems, and I will appreciate your views and your judgment.  To the extent you can apply research in making your decision, that will be excellent.
