Write a statement summarizing what you know about United States history since World War II. You can write about your knowledge of this history in general, or specifically as it relates to the themes of health, crisis, and politics. Weekly modules in this course will cover topics such as the politics of healthcare, environmental justice, immigration, the AIDS crisis, mass incarceration, so you feel free to write about any of these as well. This can be about social movements in general, or can touch on any of those that we will examine in this course: the Civil Rights Movement, Black Power, the women’s movement, environmentalism, and AIDS activism.
