I would like you to look into how, as technology changes, we are able to watch live performances without actually being there. Many of the positive things about being in a live audience is different, but what is possible to keep it a good experience. For theatrical productions, look at what places like the Metropolitan Opera, and many organizations since the world quarantine, are doing to broadcast their live performances. I’m looking to see if you can find any ways to make the experience more interactive. For these live broadcasts what the viewer/audience sees is determined by the director and the camera. For the audience in a true live situation, they have the ability to look wherever they chose. It’s a true freedom of being in a live audience. Explore ways to give the viewer of a live(or recorded) theatre performance that freedom. For music, we’ve all seen musicians performing from their homes, or other places without a live audience. What I would like you to explore are ways to have musicians performing from DIFFERENT locations at the same time, but being able to stay synchronized. Are there programs that let musicians play with each other without being in the same location? How do they keep the same beat? Is there a problem with latency? What is the future of remote live performances?
