What was the meaning the writers, producers, directors, artists trying to convey to you?

Look back on this entire year. Consider all of the material below. What did you learn from each of those poems, songs, documentaries, films, art work, official American documents, Enlightenment thinkers, Native American government structures, other official documents relating to other governments (prior to the U.S), etc.In the first series, we were “In Search of Meaning.” What was the meaning the writers, producers, directors, artists trying to convey to you? What did you get from all of those?In the second series, “Close Reading,” we were researching American historical documents and comparing them to other historical documents, Enlightenment thinkers, and government structures that paved the way for our documents and/or government structures. We were “closely” reading our documents and comparing them to others to see if our forefathers “borrowed” from others to create the United States of America as we know it today. Therefore, what and/or where did you find similarities in the older documents compared to ours? Had you ever learned before that there were documents and government structures that our forefathers had knowledge of? Do you see things in a different light now that you have done this research?Finally, after reviewing all that we have learned this year, how do you view English 4? How does it compare with other English classes you have taken in the past? What did you like about English 4 and what would you have changed or would change if you were teaching English 4 next year? Overall, what did you think of the material and the teaching method used and was if effective for you?
