Complete the template given… instructions…The teacher candidates will use understanding by design (UbD) to develop a unit of study on a self-selected topic. They will develop an instructional plan aimed at developing students’ skills and knowledge over a 2 weeks unit. Incorporated into their unit will be considerations for a specific focal student with a disability. As part of this assignment, they will develop three consecutive full-length lesson plans from their unit. Step by Step Directions :1. Determine a focal student and complete a brief description of them including, disability type, strengths, areas of need (specifically related to the topic/subject of your lesson) , 2.Using an adapted UbD template, develop a Unit of Study (2 weeks) ( see Canvas for template) 2.Complete Stage 1 and 2 out of 3 on the UbD Template and the additional components related to UDL3.Create a 2-week calendar M-F and fill it with the objectives determined in stage 1. 4.Within the 2-week unit, select three consecutive days and write a detailed lesson plan using the template reviewed in class.
