1. At its core the Cold War was a fight over the meaning of freedom. What was the US’s policy for protecting freedom during the Cold War? Describe at least two examples of this policy in action. To what extent did those efforts succeed in expanding/protecting freedom? In your opinion, did the Cold War as a whole expand or contract freedom? Explain 2.
