Discuss the Image of God as described in Genesis.

Close Reading of a Biblical TextGenesis 1:27 states that God created human beings (adam) in the image of God. Write a brief paper (no more than 2 pages, double-spaced) describing what you think this text means. What is the “image of God”? What does it mean that humans are created in the image of God? What specifically does this entail? In doing so:•Read and interpret the passage within the context of the account(s) of creation (i.e. Gen 1:1-2:4 and/or Gen 1:1-2:25). Read and reread the entire creation account. Pay close attention to the text and what it is saying. You may also wish to examine the larger context of Genesis 1-11. Are there other places in which it is mentioned that human beings are created in God’s image? Do these shed added light on what Genesis 1:27 might mean?•Cite the biblical text to support your argument.
