Compare and contrast between visual effects acquisition methods, techniques and workflows used in the analogue era of filmmaking with those being used in contemporary digital film production. This is not limited to just the camera acquisition but may involve practical effects acquisition as well such as filming. You are required to focus on only one area of interest such as:• Front/rear projection vs. virtual production• Miniatures (practical miniature stop motion vs motion control and multi-passes)• Water tank elements (paint in water tank vs. computer generated fluid simulations)• Greenscreen/bluescreen elements (travelling matte process vs. digital keying)• Animatronics and costumes (Special effects make and prosthetics vs. digital doubles/characters)This is a non-exhaustive list and any other areas that you may want to focus upon can be discussed with your tutor. You are also required to use annotated images/illustrations in support of your arguments and discussion.
