Write a case study on life style and consumer culture.
The project consists of a detailed case study of any aspect of everyday culture. You may submit additional supporting material (images, adverts, recipes, interview data etc) in addition to the 2000 words.What is a case study? Ann Gray suggests that ‘a case study is expected to catch the complexity of a single case’ (Ann Gray (2003) Research Practice for Cultural Studies, London: Sage. P. 69), and the purpose of this piece of assessment is for you to undertake a detailed study of a particular instance or aspect of everyday cultures in order to reveal just that: its complexity.Remember: this is a media and cultural studies module, so your case study should be organised around the disciplinary concerns of the field: for example, questions about cultural forms, cultural identity, material culture, everyday life, representation, etc. Although you aren’t limited in your choice of case study to the precise topics covered on the module, it should be informed by the theoretical ideas studied on the module. Furthermore, it should be on some aspect of consumer cultures as they relate to everyday life. We are assessing whether you work demonstrates that you have met the learning outcomes of the module: if your project shows a disregard for these issues, it will not be able to pass.Sometimes people go astray by picking an appropriate topic but approaching it from an inappropriate angle.Overall, in the course of your project you should demonstrate the ability to provide a detailed, theoretically informed and critically sensitive analysis of your chosen topic (see the module learning outcomes above). If you have any uncertainty about what you should be doing, or of how to proceed with a particular topic, then do make use of the tutorial support available to you.I’ve attached all the documents I think will help and one of them is a student example about a case study but obviously don’t copy it. there is no set title so you will have to think of one. i have also attached the marking scheme can you please do the collum for the upper second.
