Paper II (Due July 10, 2020): You may select from one of two different paper topics. Both options require extensive use of scholarly journals and research. Topic #1 encourages you to critically assess a macro-level and a micro-level theory, explore the research pertaining to these theories, and present an argument for or against theoretical integration. Topic #2 encourages you to apply two theories to a real-world scenario. Paper Topic #1. For this paper, you will pick two theories discussed in class, including micro-level theory and a macro-level theory, and:Describe the macro-level theory (concepts, assumptions, etc)Describe the micro-level theory (concepts, assumptions, etc)Locate and describe at least two scholarly peer-reviewed articles that test each theory (two per theory). Include information about:The research questionThe main independent and dependent variablesThe major findingsDiscuss which theory you think is the ‘better’ theory. Base your discussion on three considerations: the research you reviewed, your own personal sentiments, and the policy implications of each theory and appropriateness of these implications for contemporary times.Present an argument for or against the theoretical integration of the two theories.
