What are your thoughts/opinion of Merkel’s position on migrants?

German Chancellor Angela Merkel announced that the EU State would admit over 1 million refugees and migrants fleeing violence and turmoil in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. In an interview, Chancellor Merkel said, “It was an extraordinary situation and I made my decision based on what I thought was right from a political and humanitarian standpoint.” Merkel’s migration policy led to protests and a surge in support for the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party and drew criticism from President Trump as well as his daughter-in-law/host of Trump Production’s Real News Update.
