Discuss what do we learn from the source you selected about the origins and evolution of the Arab-Israeli conflict?

The primary source may be one of the assigned primary sources (those listed on the syllabus), or those referenced during lecture or discussion (a song, photo, or poem not listed on the syllabus), or the image analysis exercises. If you choose either of the latter two options, contact me to get the complete citation of the source. Each of your primary source papers should explore the following question: what do we learn from the source you selected about the origins and evolution of the Arab-Israeli conflict?In the each paper, you will analyze your selected source and put it into historical context—e.g. the events the led to or surrounded the production of the source. The in-class discussions of the sources are meant to help you start the analysis and contextualization of the sources. You might consider using the in-class discussion of the source to introduce your analysis and get feedback on your interpretation from your peers. However, the analysis presented in the paper will need to build out of what was stated in class. Repeating the in-class analysis of the source will be assessed as “poor” “or “adequate.” In order to receive a “good” or “superior” designation, you will need to move beyond what was said in class in your paper.Your paper should not be a summary of the source or a biography of the author. Rather, your paper should briefly summarize the source and succinctly address the author’s background before using evidence (quotes and anecdotes) from the source to support your original argument. Ground your paper in a cogent thesis statement.
