One of our firefighting teams responded immediately, using force to open the house’s front door when no one answered. The explosion occurred just as two of the firefighters were about to enter the home. It was caused by a gas leak in the kitchen, which probably originated from the stove. Both firefighters were injured. The owner, Jim Dunn, is out of town on business right now and no one else was in the house at the time. His home was completely destroyed, though, and two houses nearby were damaged by flying debris. The two injured firefighters are being treated at Jackson Hospital, and both are in serious condition.”
