Uncategorized Assignment-helpGoals:The goal of this exercise is to familiarize yourselves with making measurements and assessing uncertainty.Assignment:For today’s assignment you will need two containers, a large container, such as pot, and a smaller container, such as a bowl. You will also need a ruler, water, and an object whose mass you want to measure. You will learn later in Physics that the mass of the water displaced by a floating object is equal to the mass of the object. Use this fact and the above items to measure the mass of your object. You may want to use an object whose weight is known so that you can compare it with your calculated value. Next, estimate how accurately you can measure the mass. The easiest way to do that is by simply making the measurement 3 or more times to see how much it varies. You can simply look at the values, or you can use them to calculate their standard deviation. Add and subtract this uncertainty to your measurement for the height change to find an upper and lower bound for your mass measurement. To Submit:Draw, or take, a picture of your set up and record the values that you measured. Record the final mass and the uncertainty that you found and if you know the mass of the object state whether it was within the bounds of the uncertainty.
