Would human diseases now infect the new organisms?
Many ethical issues have arisen from the use of biotechnology. Often the question is asked, “Just because we can, should we?”The insertion of human genes into microbes has the potential to cure many medical problems for people, but what if these newly created microbes were ever released into the wild? What would happen? Would human diseases now infect the new organisms? Would new diseases develop? Would diseases that were isolated to a specific species now be able to jump into humans?
