Why do you think the Anti Federalists opposed the U.S. Constitution during the ratification struggle (1787-1788)? Did this polarization of U.S politics (between the Anti Federalists and Federalists) in that period lead to the development and formation of full fledged political parties shortly thereafter? Did the themes that divided the factions back then continue to inform party differences in other eras?
