Arguing the Thesis on the Article “Has the Smartphone Destroyed a Generation” by Jean M. Twenge.

Flipping the Script: This assignment asks you to write a short essay in which you make an argument with a thesis. In this essay you will first make your strongest support for that thesis, and next paragraph make the strongest objection. Whatever thesis (WHAT, HOW, WHY) you come up you will argue for and against. The essay will be have an introduction paragraph and the second (and every even numbered paragraph after) will make one point of support of the thesis by explaining HOW the WHAT does what it does or WHY it matters. Every odd numbered paragraph will “flip the script” and argue against the thesis or your points in support of that thesis. The objection paragraphs are refuting the HOW and WHY of your thesis. You may write a short conclusion paragraph, and you might change your mind and rearrange the paper. Topic: You must use the reading topics as your source of argument, however you do not have to cite a source from the readings. You might pick a topic from one of the articles.
