Workplace balance is important to not only the wellbeing of employees but also the overall efficiency and performance of an organization.Work life balance helps in increasing equality in the employer – employee relationship. In other words there is a balanced equality between the employer and the employee. It also reduces over thinking at work by the employee where the employee has go days off and the employer has got day off this helps to feel free and relieved at work.Work life balance reduces stress and can prevent the risk of burnout at the workplace. For example, it will prevent employees from suffering chronic stress which can take a toll on the productivity of the employee and the entire team (Kohll). In addition, work life balance can reduce the rate of employee’s turnover in the organization. Employee recruiting and training employees will not be wasted. Legislations in the country ensure that employees are entitled to work life balance. The Fair Labor Standards Act (“FLSA”) does not prescribe maximum work hours of an employees or night working. However, by requiring employers to pay employees for overtime work, this legislation helps in controlling the maximum hours an employee work. In addition, it is important to note that even though federal law does not regulate minimum rest period, the law considers any form of rest periods offered by an employer as compensable work hours (“Breaks And Meal Periods | U.S. Department Of Labor”). There are also laws that regulate matters pertaining to holidays such as the McNamara O’Hara Service Contract Act (SCA) contains obligations relating to holiday fringe benefits that need to be provided to employees of a government contract.2.Explain family/parent related legal support.
