Analyzing An ArgumentPurpose:This essay will ask you to take a closer look at the medium of film documentary as a source of information making an argument. The purpose here will ask you to critically analyze the film industry by providing a critique of one particular documentary. Thinking about the broad scope of how documentaries have the potential to reach large audiences and send messages that can have major implications for society leads you to investigate how the media is in fact portraying the truth of an argument. Here I want you to dive deep into the construction of the argument, examining the claims it is making and test how reliable the evidence is.Choosing a documentary:Think about your selection ahead of time and what film you might have a lot to say about. This film must be taking a stand on an issue. So this is not just following around someone’s life but more making a public argument.
