The global society is changing based on new trends that are bringing impactful events to the business organizations as well as leadership. The Hay Group Consultancy presents six megatrends, which are significantly affecting the global leadership and reshaping business operations. It has become important for corporations to restructure their strategies for the achievement of their goals and objectives. The six megatrends which have been discussed by Hay Group Consultancy include Environmental crisis, globalization 2.0, digitization, individualism, technological convergence, and demographic change (ConsultancyUK, 2014). Based on what has been presented by Hay Group, I agree and relate with these megatrends and how it affects global leadership. This mainly because the global scale of the economy is drastically changing. Organizations are faced with issues that require strategic developments. In this discussion, I will conduct a personal SWOT analysis based on the Hay Group six megatrends and present an individual development plan towards the development of global leadership. Strengths in Individualism, Digitization, and Technology convergenceBased on the review of the megatrends and personal experience evaluation, I discovered strengths in individualism, digitization, and technological convergence. Individualism is my strength because I have mainly because through the freedom of choice, I able to come with great personal ideas fit for organizational development. It has become important for organizations to emphasize individualism to express personalities more than businesses that have a collective structure. Individualism emphasizes on a higher value on uniqueness. Based on personal experience, I have also found strength in digitization and technology convergence (Oncioiu et al., 2017). Through the independent ideas of digital networking, I have been able to become more versatile on digital platforms.Weakness in Environmental CrisisThis is based on changes in climatic conditions, which may cause scarcity in raw materials essential for running business organizations. This issue may lead to financial problems due to the increased cost of materials. It would be significant for organizations to give more attention to environmental crises. This would help in developing solutions to minimize the crisis of financial issues as a result of changing climatic conditions. Opportunities in Digitization and Technology ConvergenceThe labor market is being transformed by the digitization process as well as technology. This an opportunity because the increase of network complexities has a large impact on society as well as organization. The relationship of an organization with its customers is drastically changing due to new technological models (Chaudhuri & Kumar, 2015). The technological development has the art of being able to bring together multiple elements as well as features of other technologies. Business intelligence has proven important to the global economy organizations, which have a better BI have become more competitive and improvements in strategic leadership.The Threat in Demographic ChangeDue to high population growth, especially in developing nations, the general growth rate has increased. This brings effect within the labor force, which makes it hard for organizations to be able to source talent. According to Vielmetter & Sell (2014), many organizations have a concern due to less-skilled employees. A higher percentage of corporations are shifting on the method of retaining their workers. The major effect of the demographic change is due to the increased taxes by the government agencies to ensure that the organization using older business models, which have increased costs. Employees need to develop and improve their skills to be competitive within the global market. Individual Development PlanThis course has helped me I the development of new digital skills and how they can be applied in business leadership. As a leader of tomorrow, there is a need to be different. My development plan is based using gained knowledge and acquired skills in this course to bridge the big gap between business operations and the application of technology. This plan will also help improving business management. My development plan will help in capitalizing on strengths. The megatrends will reshape the conventional type of leadership in various organizations.
