First see if the card reader itself can’t run either due to drivers not being compatible with Windows 10 or the card reader itself being damaged and nonoperational. The card status can be checked in Device Manager. Also, if it’s an external reader and another computer is handy, it can be plugged in and tested.As for being creative, sometimes you have to come up with a workaround rather than a fix. In this case, if it’s not a case of bad drivers but a broken card reader, it’s possible that providing the user an external card reader would solve the problem with much less effort and, possibly, expense, than fixing a bad card reader or internal connection if the card reader is internal. And if the original bad card reader was external, then it’s just a 1:1 swap.
