Uncategorized Assignment-helpThe Recommendation Instructions and Grading RubricThe Recommendation (10%)A 3- to 4-page assignment, analyzing one of the two case studies provided (Thos. Green or Army Crew). The purpose is to apply critical thinking to an organizational situation and provide a written response that problems-solves and recommends. Rationale/PurposeOrganizational members are frequently asked to problem-solve. Although many of this might not end up in written reports, when they are, we need to be able to articulate our critical thinking in logical ways. This paper challenges you to read a case study and then provide the results of your analysis. Because many may not be familiar with case studies, teaching resources are provided, along with a following outline that should help you provide a quality product.Guidelines for The RecommendationThe Recommendation (written report) Author: Your name Course: Course name Subject/Date: Title/ name of case and date Use a running header and paginate, as well as section sub-headersIssues/Problem Clearly identify the main (root) problem and key issues. Differentiate the root problem from “fruit” problems. Use case facts as needed to support your work, but don’t merely rehash the events in a summary. Refer to notes provided in the class lecture on this topic and the slide deck on reviewing a case study. Jump into deeper analysis, to demonstrate critical thinking. This goes beyond describing what is happening, focusing on why it is happening and how the issues are related (if they are). Be clear and concise. his may take up to 1 page. IF you think it would be more effective to select a target problem that isn’t the root, then make sure you justify your rationale. Declare the problem you plan to solve clearly and concisely.Alternatives Identify the 3 most realistic alternatives (there could be many potential ones) that address the issues caused by the target problem. Create a paragraph for each alternative, including 2-3 pros/benefits and 2-3 cons/risks. Name or number these, to distinguish them from each other. These may be in bullet form, but must be fully explained and supported. If you decide to combine elements of alternatives, this should be its own unique option with appropriate benefits and risks. Note, the alternatives should relate to the target problem you’ve identified. Recommendation Choose one of the alternatives as the final recommendation and expand on it. This should not be a hybrid solution by combining benefits of alternatives. Explain your choice with solid reasoning; why it is better than the others. Include implementation steps, practical ideas of how you’d put into practice the solution, even if hypothetical or illustrative. Tell us how you’ll mitigate the risks you noted in the alternative sections. This may take up to ½ to 1 page. Offer a 2-3 sentence summary statement or mini-paragraph to create an overview of the paper. The paper is limited to 4 pages, 1-inch margins, 1.5 spaces between sentences. Please use section sub-headers or organize content and make it easier to read. Feel free to bold terms, but it is not required.
