In chapter 7, the textbook discusses Meinig’s idea of “Three Landscapes” – symbolic landscapes that are “always already” known because of the symbolism associated with them. Thinking about the town or city where you currently live, which of these apply to your context? In your application essay, identify the landscape that fits your town and explain why you chose that option. If none of Meinig’s landscapes apply, what other type of recognizable landscape might better describe where you live (farm town, inner city, etc.)? Again, be sure to explain elements of your landscape that would be familiar to someone, even if they have never been there.

Your application essay should be at least 300 words. Be sure you demonstrate a clear understanding of the concept and provide APA citations for all resources used in your research.
