1. The main focus of this dialogue is on the relationship between living well and consulting the authority of the divine. Basically, the dialogue is the following question: does someone need to believe in god(s) in order to be a good person? I would like you to reflect on that very question. What do you think is the relationship between believing in god(s) and being a moral person? Essential? Non-essential? Somewhere in-between? (minimum 175 words).
2. Although Socrates and Euthyphro set out to understand the form or definition of piety, by the end of the dialogue, it is clear that they have not reached it. Does this failure to reach a definition mean that Socrates’ attempt to understand piety was unproductive?Explain why or why not. Be sure to cite at least 2 pieces of evidence to support your answer?
