Compare the scientific research to the popular press article.

Instructions:
You must choose a primary research article regarding some aspect of nutrition or nutrient of interest to you. Find an article (or ad, infomercial, social media notice, etc.) that makes a health claim that matches the research article.
For example, if you are interested in hypertension (high blood pressure) you might also be interested in the recommendations for sodium (salt) intake. Find an article on how sodium effects blood pressure and find information from popular press (TV ad, infomercial, magazine, social media notice, etc.) that makes a claim about blood pressure.

You will critically review and summarize the findings in the research article that you found in the scientific literature and compare those findings with health claims you found in popular press.
For the summary of the article, briefly state the type of research: i.e. intervention, randomized-control trial, laboratory setting, etc. and summarize the reason for the study stated in the introduction. Describe the methodology and the results. Then compare the scientific research to the popular press article. Were there similarities? What were the differences?

What type of information source did the article come from?
What are the credentials of the author(s)?
How do you know the information is credible?
Which information would you follow?
