Assignment Overview
After completing the Annotated Bibliography, students will write a Source Integration Paper that is essentially a lit review for their research project. The paper should begin with an overview of the issue that the research project will address and then, without formulating an argument of their own, students will be expected to put five sources into conversation with each other in order to illuminate the current state of research and discussion on the issue. In putting the sources into conversation with each other, the paper might explore five types of relationships:
1) agreement/similarity
2) disagreement/contrast
3) corroboration (a source provides evidence that supports the argument of another source)
4) contradiction (a source provides evidence that undermines the argument of another source)
5) cause/effect (a source explores the causes or effects of something that is observed or identified in another source)
