HOW are those ideas similar OR different to the IDEAS we learn from Perseus or Hercules?

For this short essay, you must compare OR contrast Perseus OR Hercules to another Greek/Roman “character” from mythology. You must choose a “character” we have read about in this specific Module. Please note that compare means analyzing the similarities and contrast means analyzing the differences. Choose to discuss similarities OR differences — NOT both.

STEP 1: Choose Perseus or Hercules.

STEP 2: What IDEAS do we learn from Perseus and Hercules’ journeys? What IDEA is important to learn from this mortal/God?

STEP 3: HOW does Perseus or Hercules compare OR contrast to Medusa, Cupid, Prometheus, for example (you can choose ANY character that we have studied in this unit)? WHAT IDEAS do we learn from these other characters? HOW are those ideas similar OR different to the IDEAS we learn from Perseus or Hercules?

STEP 4: Write out your body paragraph topic sentences. Can you create a LIST thesis statement from your body paragraph topic sentences?

STEP 5: Create a thesis statement.

STEP 6: Write out the specific quotes you will use for EACH body paragraph. Each body paragraph must use specific evidence from the readings. You may use a YouTube video for your other “character.” You must use the READINGS to discuss Perseus or Hercules.

STEP 7: Write out the body paragraphs. Keep the thesis statement at the TOP of the page (I suggest highlighting the thesis statement).

STEP 8: Write the introduction and the conclusion.

STEP 9: Go back and EDIT your work. Edit for basic grammar. Edit for IDEA unity. Check the thesis statement, the body paragraph topic sentences, the quotes, and the analysis of the quotes.
