What are the unique aspects of SOCOM and why are they viewed as an additional branch-although composed of members of many branches?

Which branches are the most costly and how has their long-term costs forced their mission to adapt to this factor? How is the mission they undertake much different than that of the “traditional” military member? Do you believe a “Space Force” is necessary and how do they impact funding upon the original, traditional branches (reflect back on how the Army Air Corps impacted funding to the first branches prior to the creation of the Air Force)?
