Research is done to find out about the new knowledge or draw a conclusion about certain variable and hypothesis set for the research study, for example research is done to know about the effect of a medicine, treatment, or procedure. Research investigate , evaluate and obtain results to develop or modify medications, procedures, and treatments (Helbig 2018).

The out come of research is used by health care professionals to provide evidence based care to improve health outcome for patients, families and communities. Quality improvement initiatives are also used for improving and designing right policies at organizational level, state level and federal level by public health care institutions. CDC, NIH and HHS they rely significantly on research to formulate policies and health promotions for public.

CDC designed National Public Health Improvement Initiative (NPHII) to assist 73 public health agencies in increasing and improving efficiency and effectiveness through quality improvement initiatives. Through NPHII, agencies increased their ability to make data-driven decisions for priority setting, program planning, and implementation, eliminated siloes through partnerships and collaborations

In our organization qualitative and quantitative research are used to improve delivery of care to patients and improve institutional policies and procedures in handling patient care. COVID19 is a prime example which is completely different experience for all health care institutions. Our Hospital is continuously and regularly following CDC guidelines which are designed as a result of research. Our institution is following the various publications and finding of other institutions how they are treating patients, how they are protecting health care workers from getting infected by the various while treating patients. Our institution has learned great deal from the research and experience of others in the field.
