Part 1: Key Take-Aways

Here you should address key take-aways from the subject matter for the module. This should include a brief summary of key learnings from the module; brief mention of the key ideas in relevant readings (by name, ie – author, title); discussion of relevant case studies and relevant key details that you’d want to remember and build on across the quarter. This should be professional and succinct, as if you were delivering a synthesis or synopsis to a boss or board of directors.

Part 2: Connections that I am seeing and sensing

In this section, you make explicit connections you are seeing and sensing between material from across the module, thus far across the quarter, or with your broader life outside of class. This is another opportunity to “ground” the work we are doing in class in life, and to connect theories and concepts as they build. This is from your personal perspective, and can include personal stories, meaning-making, and connection, as well as ways you analyze and make sense of connections you observe or sense. Connections may come from experiences, readings, speaker, discussions, research, etc.

Part 3: Reflections and burning questions and curiosities

This portion of the paper invites you to ask the “So what?” question about your observations and experiences. What are the implications of what you are noticing and experiencing? What questions do you have given this information? This is the opportunity for you to speak to the “so what” question – why does this matter, and what does it make me wonder next?

Part 4: Challenge Project Application

This portion of the paper asks you to connect the theories, case studies, and practical tools we have explored to your challenge project. What concepts have worked well or poorly when you have tried to actually apply them? How do you think the use of these concepts and tools would affect a project like yours in the long run?
