Discuss gender portrayal in the media and the role of NPOs

1. give your readers an overview of sources you have explored while researching a particular topic or idea
2. demonstrate how your research fits into the larger field of study
3. develop research questions for further research activities

It notes major themes or topics, the most important trends, and any findings about which researchers agree or disagree. It is to make an argument that will justify your proposed research. Therefore, it will discuss only that research which leads directly to your own project.

Research Questions. A research question is the fundamental core of a research project. It always ends with a question mark. It focuses on the study, determines the methodology, and guides analysis and reporting. Specifically, your RQs
a. Can be investigated within available time/resources/ ethical constraints.
b. Must use clear concepts defined with respect to current knowledge. Not too broad or too narrow.
c. Each RQ focuses on only 1 or 2 variables, which are quantitatively measurable.
d. Each RQ must be testable with descriptive statistics and or inferential statistics (will be covered in class).
e. Each research question needs to be indented and numbered
