Discuss one body of related images or a specific project.

Choose a photographer (I have chosen Andy Goldsworthy) or an artist who uses nature as the central subject in his/her work. It must be someone who has a significant body of work and or a high degree of visibility in the field of nature photography. You must discuss individual photographs in detail to support the areas above. This is very important. I am interested in your knowledge of the photographer and your understanding of the function of photography as a medium within the scope of their work. Use the assigned readings and the links I provided (PDF of images attached) to support your arguments and conclusions. I will be looking for references and citation of the readings in your bibliography. Discuss one body of related images or a specific project.-How does their biography influence the development of their work as a photographer? Are there other influences in the development of their work as a photographer? In what way if any is that influence demonstrated in the images?Compare and contrast at least 10 major works by this photographer. 6 pages or more, 1.5 spaces Times Roman. Attach the images you discuss at the end of the paper on a separate page.-What are the themes and ideas regarding nature and the environment explored in individual photographs and in the photographs as a body of work?-Describe them in detail and offer some of your own interpretive analysis of each. What do you see when you look at the photographs?-What are the specific photographic processes used in the photographs and how does it/they influence your interpretation of their work? (He uses photography to capture his work. He is patient and when he finishes a piece spends time with it and watches it’s transformation!) -Are there affinities/similarities to other landscape and nature photographers? Compare to Maya Lin from PDF “Eleven Minute Line” and “Great Serpent Mound”. Compare to Rebert Smithson “Spriral Jetty”. -Where is the photographer’s place within the tradition of this genre photography? What impact does their photographs have on the tradition?You will find inspiration in the images he makes that highlights the inherent beauty of the natural environment. Look at the work of some of the other artists who does this type of work for comparison in your paper. Pay particular attention to those artists you may discover who operate outside of the structure of the fine art world.I have included the images I would like you to use from Goldsworthy and a reference guide of books I used to do initial research.
