Link to Concert: https://youtu.be/aW-7CqxhnAQFor this project you need to watch and report on a YouTube performance of Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6 in F Major, with the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra, an orchestra based in Seville, Spain, consisting of musicians from countries in the Middle East, of Egyptian, Iranian, Israeli, Jordanian, Lebanese, Palestinian, Syrian and Spanish background. It is conducted by Daniel Barenboim, recorded from a concert at the 2012 Proms at Royal Albert Hall in London, England. The symphony has five movements, rather than the four typical of symphonies of the Classical era. Beethoven annotated the beginning of each movement as follows: -Erwachen heiterer Empfindungen bei der Ankunft auf dem Lande (Awakening of cheerful feelings upon arrival in the country): Allegro ma non troppo -Szene am Bach (Scene at the brook): Andante molto mosso Lustiges Zusammensein der Landleute (Happy gathering of country folk): Allegro -Gewitter, Sturm (Thunderstorm; Storm): Allegro -Hirtengesang. Frohe und dankbare Gef?hle nach dem Sturm (Shepherds’ song; cheerful and thankful feelings after the storm): AllegrettoThe third movement ends on an abrupt imperfect cadence that leads into the fourth; the fourth movement leads straight into the fifth without a pause. Otherwise, there are pauses between movements. This report should be written in essay form, NOT as a short answer or as a checklist.Take your time, and watch it a couple of times at least. Take notes as you listen. Above all, don’t begin to work on this until after you have taken the midterm exam, at which point you will have the ability to use some music terminology. You are expected to do a bit of research on anything that you don’t understand. By doing so, I think you will grow to appreciate classical music to a greater extent.ASSIGNMENTWrite a 600-800 word report. Concentrate on four (4) sections to discuss instead of mentioning every aspect of the performance. Your report must include the following:-Expectations of what you thought you would hear before you -viewed the performance-Interesting observations about the performance or instruments -heard-Correct grammar and spelling-Analysis of the music using the following criteria from the course. -Be sure you are using the music vocabulary properly; do not submit a “word salad.”-Tempo-Dynamics (Volume)-Rhythm-Melody-Harmony-FormThis symphony is considered to be “programmatic.” What does that mean, and how does this music fit that definition? Specifically, describe what is happening at 21:26-22:05.Finally, tell what you thought about the performance. Did you like it or not? Why or why not? It’s okay if you didn’t like it; just be sure to explain why with specific criteria whether or not you liked it.
