For this paper, conduct a cross-national comparison of a social policy. Chosen Policy:What social policy are you planning to research? -Immigration policy ( focus In on how covid affects it)
2) What countries are you planning to compare, and what is your rationale for that? -United states and Canada, being that our country’s are allies and in close quarters I thought it’d be interesting to find out more about our immigration policy differences for the sake of distance and other policy similarities between our countries.
3) It is encouraged that you find 2 or 3 sources and include those citations or links here as well.

Compare the U.S. to another nation on some specific policy issue. Examples include family leave policies, juvenile detention, child protection, elderly protection, or immigration detention. Select the comparison country based on some similarity to the U.S., such as global economic standing or population characteristics. Make this explicit in the paper. Describe the policy itself for each country. Compare either the development of the policy in each country, or the effects of the policy in each country. In doing parts 3 and 4 above, explain how the different social and historical context of each country matters.
Conclude by explaining what we learn about the social problem these social policies are trying to address by comparing cross-nationally, and more broadly, what this tells us about how policy-making works. Narrow it down to something specific. For instance, rather than do health care, do something like hospice care, obstetrics (birthing), or substance abuse treatment. **You can also choose to compare national responses to the pandemic. Response to the pandemic constitutes a policy.
