Describe and explain the diversity of experiences that racial and/or ethnic groups have had, historically, with regard to that concept/theme. Then, discuss the ways in which that history shaped contemporary experiences and the ways in which the contemporary experiences differ (or do not) from those in the past. Finally (shortest part), what do you think the future will look like, and why?

Pick any social issue related to race and ethnic relations (different than the major theme you chose for question one), and explain how the color-blind, multicultural, and racial democracy frameworks would define that issue and what solutions it would imply. Compare and contrast the differences between them (in doing so, make it clear what the central “beliefs” of each framework is). Then, choosing any one level (individual, interactional, institutional, or collective action) how do you think a person could try to meaningfully address this issue? Do you think the authors of the textbook agree with you, why or why not?
