Describe race and policing in the U.S.

Based on the materials reviewed to what extent do you think race informs how the police do their work? Some may argue, that when officers post racist or gender memes they are simply exercising a form of humor to help them deal with a stressful job where they see the worst of the worst of society and see the results of violence that many of us could never imagine.
