Describe the demonstration of collaborative decision-making (MBA-1G).

A1.Operations and Supply Chain Project: The purposes of this student team project are: (1) to identify any actual organization where students can collect necessary data to analyze at least one aspect of supply chain (for example, inventory, transportation, information, sourcing, etc.) to achieve right balance between responsiveness and efficiency (Instructor may provide “Alternative Supply Chain Project” to the teams who cannot identify a real company to work with) and (2) to make recommendations to improve the effectiveness of the current practices in the selected aspect of the Supply Chain performance. The project should include the following:a)A brief description of the business of the selected organizationb)A description of the various stages in the supply chainc)Identification of the selected stage or aspect of the supply chaind)Relevant current cost or other measure of the selected aspecte)Definition of the problem the project is focusingf)Statement of the mathematical model or formulationg)Analytical Technique being used to solve the problemh)Solution showing clear benefits over the current environmenti)How can the solution be implementedGuidelines for the project work and presentation 1.A clear statement of the current environment and proposed objective of the project. This may be in form of a new research hypothesis or question or a specific performance metric the team intends to improve. [STEM 3]2.This project must deal with a current or emerging issue in the corporate/business ecosystem which will remain relevant in the foreseeable future. [STEM 4]3.This project must utilize appropriate analytics/algorithms and relevant tools to solve the problem. [STEM 1; STEM 6; STEM 9]4.The team needs to incorporate feedback from the instructor received during the semester. [STEM 7]5.The managerial implications of the work done by the team and the benefits of the findings to the organization must be clearly stated. [STEM 2]. Global implications and societal impact, if any, must be clearly identified. 6.The relevance to one or more business or technical disciplines must be demonstrated. [STEM 4]7.The work breakdown between team members and how an effective collaborative process was implemented must be described. [STEM 5]8.Team must explore as to how this project can help them in finding potential career opportunities within a specific company or industry. [STEM 8]9.This presentation must be organized such that the other students in the class are learning about all the key aspects of the project thereby creating a robust peer learning environment. [STEM 7]For the purpose of measuring the learning goals, the following three (3) scores are given for this project:Score 1: The quality of company-specific analyses done to identify the decisions taken (MBA -2M, MBA-QANT);Score 2: The ability to make decisions under uncertain environment (MBA-3G); andScore 3: The demonstration of collaborative decision-making (MBA-1G).
