Hypothesis 1b: Attitudes towards the perpetrator will be more negative if the perpetrator is described as having schizophrenia than depression, cancer or no illness. Hypothesis 2a: Participants who have experienced mental illness, or know someone with a mental illness, will hold less negative attitudes towards mental illness. Hypothesis 2b: Participants who have experienced mental illness, or know someone with a mental illness, will be more knowledgeable about mental illnessHypothesis 2c: Participants who are more knowledgeable about mental illness will hold less negative attitudes towards mental illness.
