Using relevant sociological theories, legislation, policy and practice, construct an essay plan which critically discussesthe following case study. Ensure that in your answer you draw upon relevant literature and make links to Early Years Practice. Case Study : Fatima 3 years Fatima is 3 years old. She is a happy child, outgoing and has settled well in her local nursery class. She makes friends easily and enjoys playing outside on the large equipment, bikes and in the sand. More recently she seems a little slower in moving around and has fallen over several times, and several children have begun to call her names. She is less interested in looking at books and even the screen when it is her turn on the computer. The practitioners have reported their observations to the SENCO and he has suggested her parents to take her to the GP, and she has since been referred for a hospital assessment. Fatima has been diagnosed with a specific visual impairment that cannot entirely be fixed by wearing glasses. She will need assistance to use new equipment which will help her read and access the computer, as well as support adapting to wearing new specialist glasses. The nursery will need to make some changes in the nursery such as improve the lighting to enable Fatima to move around more confidently.
