My topic for this paper is drug and alcohol abuse as a public health issue. I want the focus to be on adolescents. This paper should not include any personal experiences or opinions. NO pronouns! Research Question: Would a preventative approach to drug and alcohol abuse in adolescents decrease the rate of accidents?Adolescents is the population. Accidents is the disparity. You can speak about how this can destroy families. Also maybe the psychological effects it can have. First: Introduction paragraph. The research question must be stated within the introduction paragraph.Second: Define the issue. Talk about what drug and alcohol abuse is. If there is any history also include that. Third: Prove that this is a public health issue! (Mostly what the paper should cover) Discuss the drug and alcohol abuse in adolescents and how it effects accidents. Use data and statistics to do this. No personal experiences or opinions! Only facts! Define public health issue and what the criteria is. Fourth: Advantages of prevention of drug and alcohol abuse in adolescents You do not have to state the how’s and why’s. Mostly looking for factual claims with supporting data and statistics/facts.
