At the same time, it should not be less than 6 pages.Include a Works Cited pagePAPER:Over the course of the semester, we have read about, watched, and discussed numerous themes, agents, and concepts, each of which have unfolded within various geographical regions and socio-historical moments. With this in mind, the broad objective of your final paper is to contemplate what you have learned. However–and this is very important–, such contemplation must avoid merely producing a descriptive paper–that is, one that simply outlines the general characteristics of themes, agents, concepts, etc. Instead, your paper should construct an argument that is upheld through analysis, which, for our purposes, simply means: a detailed examination of a complex theme, object, or concept, in order to understand it at a level that goes beyond the surface.To this end, you should select 1 or 2 larger themes (e.g., race, development, colonization, nationhood, production/extraction, translation, language, power, etc.) and analyze the ways in which they are discussed in 3 texts (readings or films) from the course syllabus. Your ultimate aim should be to arrive at a conclusion regarding how the themes function to establish understandings of Latin America.Though we still have a month before the paper is due, I encourage you to begin to work slowly on it.
