Uncategorized Assignment-helpEach student will be assigned one disease (Alzheimer’s Disease) one pedigree slide (slide 11) by the instructor. The pedigrees are in the Modules/Week 2: Pedigree Case Analysis Slides. Each student will respond to the questions listed below in relation to the pedigree.The intention of this assignment is to interpret a pedigree, analyze information within the pedigree focusing on the pattern of inheritance, family members at risk for the disorder/condition, and alternative explanations for the disorder/condition. Students should begin with the disorder/condition and research answering the assignment criteria. Once the research is completed relating to the disorder/condition, review the assigned pedigree slide and interpret what the pedigree shows about the family’s history of the disorder/condition and if the pattern of inheritance is shown in the slide. If it does not match up with the disorder/condition, think about alternative explanations for the disorder/condition to be present in the pedigree, but not following the patterns of inheritance and what is understood about the genetics of the disorder/condition. Assignment Criteria:Develop a scholarly paper that includes the following criteria: 1.Provide a brief overview of the assigned disorder/condition from a genetic standpoint.2.Using the assigned pedigree slide, interpret the pattern of inheritance for the disorder/condition generation by generation.a.Identify family members that may be at risk for this disorder/condition. b.Discuss other alternative explanations for the disease/condition pattern noted in the pedigree.3.This scholarly paper should be in narrative format, 3 to 4 pages excluding the title and reference page.4.Include an introductory paragraph, purpose statement, and a conclusion.5.Include level 1 and 2 headings to organize the paper.6.Write the paper in third person, not first person (meaning do not use ‘we’ or ‘I’) and in a scholarly manner. To clarify I, we, you, me, our may not be used. In addition, describing yourself as the researcher or the author should not be used. 7.Include a minimum of two (2) professional peer-reviewed scholarly journal references to support the paper (review in Ulrich Periodical Directory) and be less than five (5) years old.
