Through example, they look to build up others. They do this through mentorship. Servant leaders embody traits of listening, empathy, healing, awareness, persuasion, conceptualization, foresight, stewardship, commitment, and building community, (Thomas, 2018). Jesus Christ is probably the most well-known servant leader. He led others through example, serving the poor, sick, and hungry. One such trait, listening, grants servant leaders the ability to communicate with followers through active listening. Through verbal communications like the spoken word and tone of voice, the servant leader hears and listens. Nonverbal communication is also included, allowing the leader to interpret the gestures and movements of others. Another trait included is empathy. The ability to feel and understand feelings. They are able to put themselves into their follower’s place. They can identify characteristics in others that they can then work with to strengthen those positive traits. Please reply to my peers post with 2 references: Ng (2017), says for a team to be a performance driven team, its members must work together, like-minded, collaborate with common goal and vision, and challenge to hold on each other accountable to achieve great outcome and outstanding findings. Characteristics of performance driven team include sense of purpose team members have a shared vision, goals, objectives and values. The other characteristic of performance driven trust and mutual respect since team members value and support others. In addition, shared leadership here team members assume leadership roles depending on the task and needs of the group. The main difference between intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation is that intrinsic motivation involves doing something since its benefits you. Extrinsic motivation involves doing something to avoid punishment or because of reward. When an individual is intrinsic motivated, your internal desire to do something for its own sake. For example, reading books to satisfy reading desire. Extrinsic motivation an individual is motivated by external factor pushing something hopes earning a reward. For instance, reading a book to prepare for test. As a leader, it is important to know that through motivations and incentives your team is able to meet your expectations (Campbell, 2018). Furthermore, being a transformational leader encourages loyalty and trust, inspire, support and recognize others. References
